Riverbend Ranch Black Label
USDA Prime or High Choice. Never given hormones or antibiotics. Shipped frozen from the ranch to your door.
Before you buy beef again
Most of us don't. Here is what the label can tell you, and what it can't.
2026
For years, imported beef that was only repackaged or lightly processed here could still say "Product of USA." A USDA rule fixed that. Since January 1, 2026, the label means the animal was born, raised and processed in the USA.

Grade
USDA says marbling means more flavor, moisture and tenderness. Prime is "generally sold in hotels and restaurants." Select, the leanest of the three, "may have less juiciness or flavor."

Label
A beef producer has to prove it to USDA before "no hormones administered" can go on the label. So if the package doesn't say it, don't assume it.

One ranch, start to finish
Riverbend runs every step itself. That's how they can promise what's in the box.

Black Angus cattle spend summer in high mountain meadows.

No added hormones. No antibiotics. Not ever.

Kept just below freezing for four weeks. Riverbend says most plants skip this because it costs so much.

Their own processing plant sits right on the ranch.

Who raises it
Riverbend Ranch started in 1991 in Southeast Idaho. It raises purebred Black Angus, and it ranches in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Utah.
It also works with more than 200 family ranches in the West. They raise calves the Riverbend way: no growth hormones and no antibiotics.

Good questions
Riverbend doesn't call its cattle grass finished or grain finished. It says both are too extreme. The cattle finish on what Riverbend calls a "nutritionally balanced ration."
Riverbend says no, in writing. In Riverbend's own words: "Riverbend Ranch Black Label cattle Never receive any mRNA vaccines. And No-mRNA vaccines will Ever be used on our cattle." What beef groups say about mRNA
